- 10 miners killed Friday when a gas explosion in China

- Chinese state media are reporting that 10 miners were killed Friday when a gas explosion ripped through a coal mine in southwest China.
- 中國國營媒體說，中國西南部的一個煤礦星期五發生瓦斯爆炸，造成 10 名礦工死亡。
- Xinhua news agency says the early morning blast occurred at a privately-owned mine in Yunnan province. Thirteen miners were working underground at the time the blast occurred. Xinhua says three managed to escape.

- North Korea has declared all contracts at a South Korean-funded joint industrial estate "null and void" following a dispute over salaries for the North's workers at the site.
