  • Gary Locke: China Impeding American Business
  • 美商務部長:中國傷害美國企業
  •   U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke wants China to open its markets to more American business, but says the Chinese government is hampering that effort.
  • 美國商務部長駱家輝希望中國向更多的美國企業開放市場,不過他說,中國政府正在阻撓這一努力。

  •   Speaking to a business group in Beijing Friday, Locke said American businesses are concerned with Chinese policies that he says "openly or implicitly discriminate against foreign firms."

  •   One of the polices the United States is concerned about is an initiative encouraging the Chinese government to heavily favor domestic companies when buying goods and services.

  • Clinton Denounces North Korean Sinking of South Korean Ship

  •   U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has denounced North Korea for the sinking of a South Korean warship, saying "provocative actions have consequences."
  • 美國國務卿克林頓譴責北韓造成韓國軍艦沉沒,她說「挑釁行為將帶來後果」。

  •   Clinton condemned the incident during a joint news conference Friday with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada in Tokyo, at the start of her three-nation tour of East Asia.

  •   She said this "cannot be business as usual" adding there must be an "international response."
