  • China's President Vows to Reduce Carbon Emissions

  •   China's President Hu Jintao has vowed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions produced by his country, one of the largest polluters in the world.
  • 中国国家主席胡锦涛保证要减少中国的二氧化碳排放量;中国是世界上最大的二氧化碳排放国之一。

  •   In a speech to world leaders at the U.N. climate change summit in New York on Tuesday, Mr. Hu said China plans to get 15-percent of its energy from renewable sources by the year 2020.

  •   He also said China will cut greenhouse gases by a "notable margin" by 2020 from 2005 levels.
