  • Witnesses: Iranian Authorities Disperse Tehran Protesters

  •   Witnesses in Iran's capital say police officers dispersed a group of a few hundred protesters who started to gather Monday.

  •   The opposition demonstrators had gathered at Haft-e-Tir Square in central Tehran, in the face of a heavy police presence. According to some witnesses, police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

  •   Western nations have strongly denied Iranian government allegations that they are encouraging Iran's post-election violence, but Iranian officials continue to accuse the West of interfering and fostering unrest in Iran.

  •   Iranian media say Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called for a review of Iran's ties with Britain, saying lawmakers should carefully consider revising Tehran-London relations.
