  • Volcanic Ash Cloud Halts Flights Across Europe

  •   A huge ash cloud from a volcano in Iceland has disrupted air travel across Europe for a second day, in the most extensive airspace shutdown since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

  •   The European air traffic control agency, Eurocontrol, said about 17,000 flights are expected to be canceled Friday, as airports across Europe remained closed.
