- Chinese Premier Confident Economy Will Grow Despite Economic Crisis

- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says he is confident China's economy will be able to grow about eight percent this year, despite the unprecedented challenges of the global financial crisis.

- In an address Thursday during the opening session of China's top legislature - the National People's Congress - Mr. Wen said the economy will be fine, if it adopts what he called the "right policies and appropriate measures."

- Tibet Governor Rules out big Problems During Anniversaries

- The governor of China's western region of Tibet says he does not expect any major disturbances in the remote area during two sensitive anniversaries next week.

- Speaking with reporters Thursday on the sidelines of China's annual session of parliament, Tibet Governor Qiangba Puncong said that there will not be any big problems.
