第十四部 第九课: blown away , bone head
- Larry 最近去约塞美蒂国家公园度假。他正在告诉李华旅游的情况。李华会学到两个常用语：blown away 和 bone head。

- Yosemite was fantastic. You really should go sometime, Li Hua. I know you would be completely blown away by the scenery.
- 你是说那儿的风很大，会把我吹走啊？我本来倒是很想去，可是要是会被吹走的话，那不是太危险了吗？
- No, no. By "blown away" I mean you would be astounded. When something blows you away, it amazes you.
- 哦～，blown away 在这裡啊指的是感到惊异、吃惊。对了，我看到过约塞美蒂国家公园照片啊。这照片上的风景真的让我惊嘆不已耶。
- But being there in person is so much more amazing. You won't believe how high some of the waterfalls are; when you go, it will blow you away!
- 身临其境那当然更好啦。我啊是听说那儿的瀑布从很高的山上流下来，非常惊人喔。其实你知道吗，Larry，在中国啊，也有许多有名的山脉。下回啊你要去中国，一定要去黄山玩。那里的景色啊也会让你惊嘆不已喔！
- I am sure I will be blown away. I've heard friends who have been to Huang Shan and talk about it, and it does sound amazing.
- 对，很多美国人啊都去黄山玩过，大家都觉得很美。对了，Larry，你去约塞美蒂有没有照相呢？
- I sure do. Before I left, my uncle came by and gave me a new camera to take with me to Yosemite. I was blown away by his generosity.
- 你叔叔那麼好啊！知道你要出去玩还特地送你一个新的照相机啊！他这麼慷慨，人人都会感到惊异，而且啊还会让人很羡慕吶。
- Yes, sometimes when someone does something unexpectedly nice, it really blows you away.
- 对啊，像我刚到美国的时候我没有车，有人会开车带我去买菜，然后告诉我到什麼地方该怎麼走。我真没有想到人们会对我这麼好，真是让我又感动又惊讶呢。
- You know, the scenery was beautiful, but I was also blown away by the number of tourists at Yosemite.
- 那有什麼奇怪的？放暑假嘛，旅游的人当然多囉！

- Li Hua，I was also blown away by some of the stupid things people would do in the park!
- 那不奇怪，在哪儿都会有人做些不得体的事。那你是看见有些人他们在做什麼啦？
- Well, there was one guy who was feeding the deer. What a bone head!
- 给鹿吃东西？公园里一般都不会让大家给动物吃东西的。你说 bone head，你是指那头鹿头上有骨头啊？谁的头上没有骨头呢？
- No, I mean the guy who fed the deer was a bone head. A bone head is someone who has no brains and does something really stupid.
- 哦～，bone head 就是没有脑筋的人，所以你是说那些给鹿吃东西的人啊没脑子。对了，我是听说鹿啊应该在他们所在的栖息地要自己找东西吃的。
- Yes, there are thousands of tourists who come to Yosemite every day. If everyone fed them, the deer would probably get fat and sick!
- 还有还有啊！那些随地扔东西的人，他们也很讨厌耶，他们啊也都是 bone-headed。
- Exactly. Not picking up your trash just spoils the view for others and is bad for the environment.
- 就是嘛，到处扔垃圾不但会影响公园的景色，而且也有害环境保护呢。也许啊他们是因為没有扔垃圾的口袋。
- That still seems like a bone-headed excuse to me. You can carry your trash until you find a park trash can or bring it with you to your car.
- 你说我没有脑筋才会问这样的问题？我看你才没脑筋吶！你把垃圾拿在手里，等到看见垃圾筒再扔？或者把垃圾带回自己的车上？这是什麼餿主意嘛！
- I wonder why don't parks give out trash bags to everyone who comes into the park, Li Hua, Do you think that would prevent littering?
- Larry，这啊才是个好主意啊！公园啊应该给每个来玩的人发一个垃圾袋，这样人们就不会随地扔东西了。
- In fact, there are some parks in the U.S. that do that.
- 有的公园已经这样做了啊，那别的公园也应该这样做啊。
- So, I had a good idea! I guess that means you don't think I'm a bone head!
- 对，这个主意很好，所以你不是一个 bone head.

- 今天李华学到了两个常用语。一个是 blown away，意思是惊嘆、惊奇。另一个常用语是 bone head，意思是没有脑筋的人。
