  • US Lawmakers Still Deadlocked Over Budget
  • 美国议员仍就预算问题僵持不下
  •   U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday the government appears headed toward a shutdown, as President Barack Obama and congressional leaders remain deadlocked in a budget dispute.
  • 美国国会参议院多数派领袖里德星期四说,联邦政府似乎在走向关闭;欧巴马总统和国会领袖在预算争议中仍陷於僵局。

  •   Reid, a Democrat, said he is not nearly as optimistic about solving the impasse as he was Wednesday night after meeting with Republican House Speaker John Boehner and President Obama.

  • Gulf Council to Ask Yemen's President to Resign

  •   Qatar's prime minister says the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council hopes to reach a deal with Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Yemen's opposition on Mr. Saleh's resignation.
  • 卡达首相阿勒萨尼说,海湾合作委员会的六个成员国希望就萨利赫辞职问题,与叶门总统萨利赫、叶门反对派达成协定。

  •   Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani commented while thousands of protesters rallied in Sana'a and other Yemeni cities, calling for Mr. Saleh's immediate departure.
