- China Criticizes Sarkozy for Meeting Dalai Lama

- A Chinese state-run newspaper has sharply criticized French President Nicolas Sarkozy for meeting with Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama on Saturday.
- 中國一份官方報紙星期六猛烈抨擊法國總統薩科齊會晤西藏流亡精神領袖達賴喇嘛。
- The lead editorial in today's (Monday's) English-language China Daily newspaper called Mr. Sarkozy arrogant, and said that he would only have himself to blame for the consequences of his actions.
- 英文報紙《中國日報》的主要社論稱薩科齊總統傲慢，並且說只有他自己應對為他的行為承擔後果。
- China had asked Mr. Sarkozy not to attend the meeting, which took place at a gathering of Nobel Peace Prize winners in the Polish City, Gdansk.

- Japan Protests Intrusion by Chinese Survey Ships

- A Japanese official says Tokyo lodged a protest with Beijing today (Monday) after two Chinese survey ships entered disputed waters and refused to leave.
- 一名日本官員說，在兩艘中國測量船進入有爭議水域並拒絕離開後，東京星期一對北京提出抗議。
- Japan's coast guard urged the ships to leave waters surrounding the Japan-held islands - known as the Senkaku in Japan, and the Diaoyu in China - but the vessels did not leave.
