  • President Bush Wants to Settle Iran Dispute Diplomatically
  • 布希总统望外交解决伊朗争端
  •   The Bush administration says it wants to settle the Iranian nuclear crisis through diplomacy, although President Bush has not ruled out a military option.
  • 布希行政当局表示愿意通过外交手段解决伊朗的核危机,不过布希总统没有排除以军事行动做為一种手段。

  •   White House spokesman Scott McClellan says President Bush is not taking any options off the table, but he said two recent media reports on plans for air strikes in Iran were based on what he called "wild speculation" by outside experts.

  •   The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.), Mohamed ElBaradei, is due in Iran this week to discuss cooperation with his agency. I.A.E.A. inspectors arrived in Iran Friday and have visited Tehran's uranium conversion facility in Isfahan. A visit to the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz is also on the agenda.

  • Protesters Demand Greater Rights for Illegal Immigrants

  •   Protesters have begun new marches in the United States to demand greater rights for more than 11 million illegal immigrants. Demonstrators wearing white t-shirts and waving American flags paraded today (Monday) in Atlanta as part of the National Day of Action for Immigration Justice. Marches also were planned in Washington, D.C. and more than 100 other cities.

  •   Some 350-thousand people demonstrated in (the southern city of) Dallas on Sunday, and protests were held in several other cities.
