第一部 第十二課: ticked off , close call
- 在紐約上大學的 Michael 和李華，今天在華盛頓參觀名勝古跡．他們在對話裡會用到兩個常用語： ticked off，另一個是 close call。

- Yeah, I saw that. Crossing the streets in New York and Washington is dangerous. But getting ticked off about it won't do you any good.
- 對哎，在紐約和華盛頓啊過馬路是很危險．疑？你，你說什麼對我沒好處？ Ticked off？
- Yes, Ticked, t-i-c-k-e-d, Off, o-f-f, Ticked off means to get angry or annoyed at something. Getting angry at the drivers will not do you any good.
- 哦～， ticked off 的意思是為什麼事情生氣．你剛才說的是我對開車的人生氣對我沒什麼好處．唉，看來啊讓我 ticked off 的事啊，還挺多呢！
- Yeah, like when your boyfriend broke up with you right before we started classes.
